Alien:Romulus 5/10 STARS

I'm a big fan of the film Aliens.

I watched it all the time growing up, it was a movie that I shared with my father and my two older brothers.

The trailer and the posters looked promising, I really didn't invest a whole lot of thought into this movie and when it came out it was on my short list of movies to see in the theater.

I WISH I NEVER LEFT MY HOUSE.

I will say this!

It was super gory and bloody!!! some of these deaths were FUCKED up and also the sexual violence was unsettling which has been a core theme throughout the series but it was taken to 11 in this movie.

Andy was a cool character and the actor plays a non human character with such soul.

It is a beauty shot film and a master class in how having the right production company that focus on the craft of set and prop design because it was like stepping into a mining colony in the post future world ruled by one mega company... super capitalism.

The movie really captures the feeling of hopelessness and how the mega corps are not looking out for it's workers.

Capitalism Bad

For what i did like, their was a whole lot i didn't find great.

The movie wanted me to dumb my brain or eat the easter eggs like I'm a die hard marvel fan.

The way the movie called back to every other movie before felt like beating the horse, but also picking the weirdest points from those movies also blows my mind because it was like the laziest A.I script of all the movies.

I think thats the biggest thing i took away from being a fan of the series. It felt almost disrespectful because of how dumb and simple they made it all fit together.

overall if you want to see a movie worth the price of the ticket Alien Romulus is worth that ticket

it is scary but i found myself calling the movie out for dumb plot issues than really believing that the tension was real.

the alien formula is pretty easy

plot

women character lead

alien gets out

a lot of men die

women character kills alien ( bonus if their is a child or small animal to save)

*not really surprise its another alien or the same alien but its another boss fight

women character kills alien for real this time

cryosleep and drift in space

not a hard plot to really do they have made previous movies that follow this and switch up the form a little but the point is that this movie was great way to get someone into this universe but just stop watching after the end of the third act just leave walk out blackout anything but watch the fourth act...

I hate losing more than I want to win.

Im a fan of any underdog sports story where it feels almost impossible to win yet against all odd they still come on top, and shoresy is one of those stories that grabs you with the icy humor you only really hear in the locker rooms of your favorite memories of playing in high school and combines that with the real emotional heart that you typically find coach Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights preaching about why the love of the game is the reflection of you as a man and you have to carry yourself with that into all aspects of your life.  Shoresy is the love child of both Goon and FDL ( fridsay night lights) combining both heart and humor as the main reason you the audience have stayed to see if the sudbury blueberry bulldogs have what it takes to win it all and really show everyone that those who you think will never accomplish anything of value, in-fact of the fuck you spirit  to not only prove you wrong but in the process win you over with how real t...

this isnt a movie review its more of a cannabis rant !!!

Been working in the Cannabis retail industry for about a year now.  I want to RANT SO HARDDDDDD Two things im going to rank is the culture we have allowed cannabis to become as consumers to get like this.  As a budtender i have accepted that people who smoke this product know nothing and are being tricked by the marketing.  Or is it the fact that no one even me for a very long time just didn't want to spend the five minutes it take to have a base understanding of THC.   Anyways I just want people to stop yelling at me when the education and the first hand experience that i have allows me to further explain your question you have. I'm WEIRD IM SORRY I THINK YOU WOULD WANT ME TO CORRECT YOU AND TAKE YOU TO WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TOO.....    Lately i have been cutting back on what i feel is a mountain of weed smoke. the over consumption that made me think that i DONT LIKE THIS !!!!!  I remember when i was a lad and i had dreamed about a weekend w...
