I hate losing more than I want to win.
Im a fan of any underdog sports story where it feels almost impossible to win yet against all odd they still come on top, and shoresy is one of those stories that grabs you with the icy humor you only really hear in the locker rooms of your favorite memories of playing in high school and combines that with the real emotional heart that you typically find coach Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights preaching about why the love of the game is the reflection of you as a man and you have to carry yourself with that into all aspects of your life.
Shoresy is the love child of both Goon and FDL ( fridsay night lights) combining both heart and humor as the main reason you the audience have stayed to see if the sudbury blueberry bulldogs have what it takes to win it all and really show everyone that those who you think will never accomplish anything of value, in-fact of the fuck you spirit to not only prove you wrong but in the process win you over with how real the characters feel and act.
If you have watched any episode of LetterKenny which this show takes part you'll fit right at home but even if you're like me and was shown this you will fall in love with Jared Keeso has a writing style that blends so well in the story he is telling with this show and it is different than his project in letterkenny. From the fluid movement with the camera to the music that enhances the emotional tone.
This is a love letter to both hockey and of those who play on the ice.
If Goon was about the enforcer and the lasting importance of that position to bring and keep a team together
Shoresy is the about the player who is the heart of it all. Keeso gives shoresy so much range to be that character and is felt by the third episode and you really feel every minute about how much this all means to our #69 player out there on the ice.
Im looking forward to what comes in the following season as I am forever changed by this show and had me in tears in the last episode of season three as this show has the ability to keep you on your toes and rooting for them.
